Things seem to be moving along. We have one more meeting for our home study. Brenda, our social worker, will come to our house. She is out of town this week, so she will come next Monday, the 26th. We are going to make sure that our home study shows that we are open to various correctible medical issues.
Once we get our homestudy, Natasha said that we can send it to her along with our power of attorney form, and she can get us a spot to be registered. Right now, the dossiers requesting younger kids (under 8) are getting submission dates in May 2010. So the sooner we send these items to her, the sooner we will travel. The rest of the paperwork can be mailed, translated, and submitted on the official submission date.
Once our dossier is submitted (sometime after May 2010), we will get an appointment date. That is the actual date we travel. These dates seem to be fairly soon after the submission date, so we'll see.
We also told our agency that we would be open to adopting a child in this country if a birth mother was looking for a family. That's a long shot, but one never knows. . .
